Your question for Auklet: What should you do if all your friends dont know u have alopecia?

Thank you very much for your excellent question.  The simple answer is that it is up to you.  If you don’t feel ready to tell your friends then that is fine.  If you feel worried about them finding out or you feel you would like them to know then it might be best to tell them. 

It might be easiest to tell one of your closest friends first and then they can help you tell other friends.  You could also ask your teacher to help you tell the class if you are happy with everyone knowing. 

When people find out about your alopecia they may ask you questions about it.  It’s a good idea to have some answers prepared that you feel comfortable with.  Why not have a look at the questions and answers on the HeadzUp website http://www.headzup.org.uk/Kids_about_alopecia.aspx .
